Melanie Scholtz is a South African–born, multi-award-winning jazz singer, composer, and educator who teaches all levels from beginner to advanced students, both in person and online. With more than 20 years of international performance experience, she brings a unique combination of professional performance, vocal training, songwriting, and music education to her students.

From Broadway to the concert stage: Melanie brings extensive experience as both a performer and educator. Her career has taken her across South Africa, Europe, and the United States, including performances with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

Melanie began playing piano at the age of five before studying opera at the University of Cape Town Opera School, where she graduated cum laude with a Performer’s Diploma in Opera in 2000.
Since then, she has built a remarkable international career spanning more than 20 years. She has released five acclaimed solo albums and has been featured as a guest artist and songwriter on numerous projects nationally and internationally.
Her performance career has taken her across South Africa, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, France, Italy, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United States.
