Derek Fawcett is a singer-songwriter, performer, educator, and experienced music professional, whose career spans live performance, songwriting, recording, and music education. . He brings real-world industry experience into his teaching while helping singers and songwriters develop their own artistic voice.

Derek works with singers and songwriters to turn ideas into finished music while developing their individual sound and artistic identity. His collaborative approach combines vocal performance, songwriting, musicianship, and creative exploration - meeting each student where they are and helping them move forward as an artist.

Derek Fawcett has shared stages with Peter Frampton, Ben Folds, America, Lifehouse, Pat Benatar, Colin Hay, Gin Blossoms, and Blues Traveler, and backed up Chance The Rapper at Lollapalooza.
The Chicago Tribune called Derek’s music “austere singer-songwriter stuff of surpassing grace.” His recent co-writing collaborations with Zingara and The Steel Wheels have generated millions of streams.
Derek has also performed in Trey Anastasio’s Hands On A Hardbody, with Chris Jones with his contribution to the production receiving critical recognition.
In addition to his work as a performer and songwriter, Derek is an experienced educator who has been recognized for excellence in teaching and is actively involved in contemporary music education.
