In this dynamic class, you’ll explore different song styles, participate in a group singing and receive personalized instruction for a solo song of your choice. Have fun while mastering proper breathing, expanding your vocal range and discovering the secrets of rhythm, dynamics and singing with emotion and conviction.
Each session includes a vocal and breathing exercises, a focused topic of the day and a group song. You’ll sing as a group, in duets and solo, with a curriculum tailored to your singing level and experience.

Tate is a professional opera singer, vocalist, performer, and voice/piano instructor from beautiful San Diego, California. Classically trained, she has sung the great soprano roles from Musetta (La bohème) and Gilda (Rigoletto) to her upcoming performance as Nedda (I Pagliacci) with Opera New York. Tate has performed in musicals such as Phantom of the Opera (Carlotta), Grease (Rizzo), and Once on This Island (Mama Euralie) and stage directed multiple productions as founder of her company The CoOperative. She has sung alongside Andrea Bocelli (Hollywood Bowl).
Tate believes that music has the power to bring empowerment, hope, and motivation to all walks of life and could not be more thrilled to be teaching voice at Voice Academy NYC.

Ashley Morton is a New York based performer and voice coach. She has toured nationally with shows like Legally Blonde the Musical and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and continues to perform regionally at theaters across the country. Recently in Waitress.
Throughout her career, which spans over 8 years, she has honed her craft as a vocalist, developing reliable and effective technique. She has studied with the Institute for Somatic Voice work under Jeanie Lovetri, and continues to develop her practice based on the principles therein.
She teaches all styles and level. Her mission is to make singing joyful, fulfilling, and easy.

Stephanie has worked as a backing vocalist for celebrities, such as- Cyndi Lauper, Taylor Dayne, Sandra Bernhard, Nancy Sinatra, Ana Gasteyer and more.
She has performed on Broadway National Tours, European and Regional Tours of musicals, as well as at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. “We sing when words alone no longer suffice.”

4 week Solo Singing Group class (online)
Solo singing course Online lessons - class repeats every 4 weeks 4 week course - Online - Max 4 students Tuesdays: 6pm-7pm
4-week mini course where students build a foundation centered on our proven vocal techniques. Students will learn to sing with proper technique and individual instruction will be given. Songs are performed in class with backing tracks and each class begins with breathing and vocal warm-ups and scales on piano. Please pick a song before class starts! Class is great for all levels and customized to fit students needs and goals! Class can be renewed after the cycle
Open Level: Age: Teen/Adults-Tuesdays – 6pm-7pm Online (zoom)

Students pick what song they want to work on and we will work on proper breath support, pitch and rhythm, expand your vocal range and how to sing with emotions and find your unique voice!
Katarina Nolfe is a singer/songwriter and founder of Voice Academy NYC. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden Katarina started singing as a child and relocated to NYC in her 20’s and studied voice technique, song performance and music theory at New School University, and has worked as a singer, songwriter and vocal coach for the better part of the last two decades. She loves teaching and helping students find their voice and confidence!
